Grammy-nominated Norwegian trio Gard Nilssen Acoustic Unity have already released three critically acclaimed albums since their formation in 2014: “Firehouse”, “Live In Europe” and “To whom buys a record”.

On 15 July 2022, the trio Gard Nilssen Acoustic Unity released its debut album ‘Elastic Wave’ for the world’s most important jazz label ECM records, and since then it has consistently received positive reviews from listeners and journalists around the world.
The band has so far played over 100 concerts in Norway, Europe, Japan, USA, Canada and Brazil. Since receiving many great reviews for their concerts at Winterjazz in New York, at Jazzahead in Bremen, after a concert together with Joshua Redman and Ambrose Akinmusir, or during Nilssen’s residency at the Molde International Jazz Festival in 2019, the trio Gard Nilssen Acoustic Unity has been cited as one of the most exciting bands currently operating on the European jazz scene.

Eldh, Roligheten and Nilssen are very active and sought-after musicians in Europe, and in addition to their joint trio, they can currently also be heard in the following projects and ensembles: Django Bates, Pat Metheny, Bill Frisell, Trondheim Jazzorkester, Koma Saxo, Susanne Sundfør, SKRIM, Friends & Neighbors, Bushman ́s Revenge, Peter Evans or Enemy.

The music of Gard Nilssen Acoustic Unity is original compositions by the band members. In their playing the emphasis is mainly on groove, stage creativity, dynamics and energy with plenty of space for collective improvisation.
