Improvising violinist, composer and leader of the Amalia Umeda Quartet. She started playing the violin at the age of seven, but did not feel fully integrated with the instrument until many years later, when she began to consciously and independently pave the path she wanted to follow. She sees writing her own music and taking risks when improvising as key elements that allow her to develop and broaden her horizons in music. What she appreciates most about music is its ability to manipulate space, reflect various emotional states, build tension and illustrate what cannot necessarily be described in words. She is the winner of the Third Prize at the Zbigniew Seifert International Jazz Violin Competition (2022), a special prize at the Young Crocus Jazz Contest (2021, with the Amalia Umeda Quartet) and Second Place at the Blue Note Poznań Competition in the solo category (2020).
